Global Collaboration for Local Impact: ARCS Australia and DIA Join Forces

11 March 2025

Tim Boyle ChMPP

CEO, ARCS Australia

Expanding professional development, global insights and access to world-class content for Australia’s therapeutic goods sector

In an exciting new step forward, ARCS Australia and the Drug Information Association (DIA) have entered into a collaboration aimed at strengthening the global connectivity of the Australian life sciences and therapeutic goods workforce.

Both organisations share a common purpose: to build knowledge, capability and community in the medicines and medical devices sector. While ARCS Australia is focused on supporting professionals across the therapeutic goods lifecycle through education, advocacy and professional development, DIA brings a global lens with more than six decades of experience connecting experts in regulatory science, clinical development, and healthcare innovation around the world.

This partnership bridges local and global perspectives, giving ARCS members access to international thought leadership and DIA members a greater connection to the vibrant Asia-Pacific life sciences community. Together, the organisations will co-deliver content, events and opportunities designed to support professionals navigating increasingly complex regulatory, ethical and commercial environments.

Dr Tim Boyle MMPP, CEO, ARCS Australia“At ARCS, we are committed to building a globally connected workforce. This partnership with DIA is about bringing the world to Australia and taking Australia to the world. Our shared commitment to advancing professionalism in the sector makes this collaboration a natural alignment.”

Through the partnership, ARCS and DIA will explore a series of initiatives, including co-hosted webinars and summits, potential for collaborative input into training content, and shared access to key insights and international speakers. These initiatives are designed to enrich ARCS programming with a global outlook while bringing Australian expertise into DIA’s global network.

For early-career professionals, this collaboration opens doors to new learning pathways and global networking opportunities. For experienced leaders, it fosters cross-border collaboration and the exchange of regulatory and clinical best practices.

Marwan Fathallah, President and CEO, DIA“DIA’s mission is to bring together stakeholders from around the world to accelerate innovation that improves health and well-being. Collaborating with ARCS enables us to further that mission by connecting with the vibrant Australian life sciences sector, and by sharing global perspectives with a local lens.”

This partnership represents a commitment by both organisations to strengthen the global ecosystem of professionals working in regulatory affairs, clinical research, pharmacovigilance, health technology assessment, and medical affairs. It also underscores the role that professional associations play in creating meaningful international collaborations.

In a time of rapid scientific and technological advancement, complex policy reform and evolving global regulation, this collaboration will help ensure that Australian professionals are equipped with the tools, insights, and networks they need to thrive.

As ARCS and DIA begin this new chapter together, members can expect enhanced content, new events, and broader opportunities to engage across borders—driving forward the shared vision of better health through better capability.
